Elegant Gardner
Every day Kaitlynn and I go outdoors to ‘play’. I work, she plays. Her idea of playing sometimes is doing exactly or as close to what I am doing as she can get. Yesterday I wanted to finish up with the transplanting of my vegetable plants and morning glories, I was not surprised when I lost the argument before going outdoors as to what shoes she would wear.
So she won of course, and outside we went with her high heels clomping around beneath her. She loves her princess shoes! They don’t slow her down either. She began the day with watering every little weed she could find.
She was quite proud of herself and so was I. She’s such a great kid, she loves to ‘help’ and to try to do anything I’m doing. It doesn’t really seem to matter if it’s cleaning, writing, planting, painting, or even yesterday when we were putting together the flower beds.
I helped her along to plant a bell pepper plant, and by the end she was feeling her wheaties! When I watch her or help her, I just can’t figure out how I ever lived without her. The earth truly revolves around her for me, as does my life. She’s a continual source of inspiration.

American Idol Finale
Just as last year, I did not and never will really follow American Idol throughout the season. I do however enjoy the last two nights of the show. I choose my winner based on the one night of performances and then wait through the final show to see who won.
Last night, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen both did a fantastic job. I was sold on Kris Allen from the moment he started singing. I felt each note he sang, each word of each song hit me right down to my toes. Adam can sing. There’s no question about that, but Kris can make you feel. When I choose music, I choose what makes me feel. A lot of America just like the entertainment.
I do have a feeling Adam Lambert will win on that criteria alone. I do sit here hoping and waiting to see if Kris wins though. Fingers totally crossed!!!
Growing Like A Weed…
It amazes me really how very fast kids grow. My baby is now two. Two whole years old and that just seems so unreal. I swear it feels like I found out yesterday I was even pregnant with her, but alas, here we are at two years old.. growing and changing on a daily basis.
Yesterday she walked around most of the afternoon with this little princess phone we bought for her (but didn’t really plug it in) and just talked and talked.. she apparently was having a conversation with a very persistent person who wanted her to come home with them.. cause she kept on informing them over and over ‘I can’t come home with you, I have to stay here.’ I had the hardest time keeping a straight face. She would get soooooo serious and stern.
Today we’ve sat at my desk most of the day. She’s wrote, cut paper, drank juice, gave me multiple kisses, ate neenies, sang along with my mp3s and danced all over her little stool. She’s a funny funny kid.. I’m so proud to be her mama.. and now we’re back to using mama’s pen as a microphone and she’s saying mama you sing…. mama sing!!!!! So I have to go sing!!!
