BBC NEWS | Americas | Missing US girl found 18 years on.
In a world where I move around in my day to day life free to craft, play with my child, work my garden, watch tv, go shopping if I want… anything… it’s sickening and scary to think about this poor girl being held captive all these years.
Already people are talking about 18 years, was she really captive… could she have left… why didn’t she call for help……… I wonder if all of these questions come before or after they do the math. She was abducted 18 years ago, she has a 15 year old child… She was 11 when she was taken, she was pregnant when she was 13, gave birth at 14… In those three years alone, she obviously was being raped and used, so how can we assume she felt she COULD scream for help after all that time? And once the baby was born… how could she put her child’s life at risk by trying to run? She was a child herself.. and he obviously left the house with the kids during this time… I say string him up from the nearest tree and go on about our lives… the last thing on earth we need to be doing is to add to her torment… but then not everyone has morals or common sense do they? She’ll be questioned and blamed and mainly just because she is just that… a SHE.. a female.. a woman… god knows we don’t have the brains God give us huh? Bleh.. rant over… those questions just ticked me right off.

Every day Kaitlynn and I go outdoors to ‘play’. I work, she plays. Her idea of playing sometimes is doing exactly or as close to what I am doing as she can get. Yesterday I wanted to finish up with the transplanting of my vegetable plants and morning glories, I was not surprised when I lost the argument before going outdoors as to what shoes she would wear.
So she won of course, and outside we went with her high heels clomping around beneath her. She loves her princess shoes! They don’t slow her down either. She began the day with watering every little weed she could find.
She was quite proud of herself and so was I. She’s such a great kid, she loves to ‘help’ and to try to do anything I’m doing. It doesn’t really seem to matter if it’s cleaning, writing, planting, painting, or even yesterday when we were putting together the flower beds.
I helped her along to plant a bell pepper plant, and by the end she was feeling her wheaties! When I watch her or help her, I just can’t figure out how I ever lived without her. The earth truly revolves around her for me, as does my life. She’s a continual source of inspiration.
